The story behind What If Network
WIN is a calm, community-powered space for everyday people with full plates who want to build everyday resilience in small, realistic steps, without pressure, panic, or perfection.
Why WIN exists
What If Network (WIN) grew out of a simple observation: most of us are doing our best to juggle work, family, caregiving, and everything else life brings our way. We care about being wise, steady, and prepared, but we are often too exhausted to figure out how to do that on our own.
A lot of resources out there either:
• Pile on more “shoulds” and make us feel behind, or
• Focus on extreme worst-case scenarios that leave us feeling more anxious than supported.
WIN was created as a different kind of space, a place where:
• Small steps are celebrated.
• “Enough for today” is a real goal, not a failure.
• You do not have to carry everything alone or have it all “together” to belong.
Meet the founder
Hi, I am Shayla. I wear a lot of hats as a working professional, parent, and caregiver, so I know what it feels like to carry a full plate.
By day, I am a business continuity and disaster recovery professional, where I help others think about “what if” and how to keep going when it is not business as usual. At home, I have navigated my own mix of family responsibilities, health needs, and unexpected curveballs.
Over time, I noticed a gap. The tools and conversations I saw in my professional world did not always translate to the everyday realities of getting kids out the door, caring for loved ones, managing work, and still finding a little space to breathe. For many of us, the tools available for working professionals and busy families just didn’t quite fit real life. They often assumed more time, energy, or headspace than we actually had.
WIN is my response to that gap, a space where real life is honored and small, steady steps are enough.
Over 14 years of professional experience working in resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, helping teams think through “what if” and how to keep going when things do not go as planned.
Experience designing tools and processes for people with limited time, energy, and bandwidth so progress is possible even on hard days.
Personal experience navigating a full household, caregiving responsibilities, and the everyday “what ifs” that come with family life, health, and changing plans.
What WIN stands for
Inside WIN, we are practicing a different way to think about everyday resilience.
Calm over crisis
We do not use scare tactics or shame. We focus on grounded, steady action that fits into real life.
Small steps over perfection
We believe small, repeatable actions add up over time. You are never “behind” for not doing everything at once.
Community over isolation
Life can be heavy. WIN is a place to be honest about that weight and to carry it with others who understand.
Inclusivity over one-size-fits-all
WIN welcomes different family shapes, cultural backgrounds, abilities, and life situations. There is not one “right” way to build resilience.
Real life over highlight reels
We celebrate real wins: clearing one counter, having a hard but important conversation, setting up a small “what if” plan, or taking a 10-minute rest.
What you can expect inside WIN
When you join WIN, you are not signing up for another overwhelming program. You are stepping into a gentle rhythm of support.
